Corporate Membership

Corporate Membership of SBF is open to any business operating within the construction industry in Scotland.

Corporate Members have the ability to fully participate in the work of SBF and help to set SBF's policies for the future. Corporate Members are actively encouraged to become involved in helping to deliver the Scottish Building Federation’s key objectives, namely:

  • To provide the highest standard of business support services to our members.
  • To promote and represent the interests of building contractors.
  • To lobby and influence the Scottish Government, Westminster and Local Authorities on behalf of Scottish building employers.
  • To assist member companies with recruitment and training.
  • To maintain and develop good working relationships with like-minded bodies across all disciplines.
  • To participate actively in relevant industry related forums and discussion groups.
  • To provide assistance to clients at all levels, in the selection of a quality building contractor.
  • To encourage positive relationships between employers and trade unions for the benefit of everyone working within the industry

Corporate subscription rates are banded from A to L based on a company’s average turnover over the three years preceding application for membership. Subscription levels for SBF Corporate Membership are set on an annual basis by the Board of Directors. Associate Membership

Associate Membership is open to individuals, companies and organisations with a working interest in the construction industry. Examples are:

  • Education Establishments, e.g. colleges of further and higher education; universities.
  • Management Consultancies.
  • Recruitment Consultancies and Agencies.
  • Chartered Quantity Surveyors and Architects.
  • Other businesses supplying goods and/or services to the Scottish construction industry


Associate membership of SBF has an annual flat fee of £500 + VAT, but does not give access to the full range of SBF services. To find out more about becoming an associate member, please contact us here.
