Each quarter, SBF members are invited to complete an online survey, known as the Scottish Construction Monitor. The Monitor canvasses members’ views on the current state of the industry and the outlook for their own business. This survey provides a vital ‘state of the industry’ snapshot, exposing the true trading conditions for construction companies across the country.
Running continuously since 2008, the Monitor is well-established and widely viewed as an important barometer of confidence within the Scottish construction sector, regularly generating widespread interest and media coverage.
Each Monitor includes a ‘hot topic’ question, gauging members’ views on a wide variety of issues, from apprenticeships to employment from procurement to planning. SBF uses the information gathered through the Construction Monitor to make the case to Government and other decision-makers for the development of policies that are industry friendly.
